
Heidi Watney was born May 19 1981. She is an American sportscaster. She graduated from the University of San Diego, her previous experience in sportscasting includes assignments at MLB Network, New England Sports Network in Boston, Time Warner Cable SportsNet in Los Angeles, and two stations located in Fresno. Watney was a student at Clovis West High School, Fresno. In her time there, she competed in hurdles and diving. One of her achievements was being a National Merit Scholar. She was accepted into the University of San Diego with an academic scholarship. In 2003, she graduated with high honors. 2. Watney has been a contestant in the Miss California USA pageant, where she was the first runner-up in 2002. Watney is the daughter of golf professional Nick Watney. 7 Andy Weir, author of The Martian science fiction novel claimed that Watney was his name and he created the character Mark Watney from it. He saw her name in an Red Sox broadcast. Watney was in the music video for Dropkick Murphys' "Going Out in Style" single.
